How to play Roulette online

Roulette is a game dictated by chance, and its widespread appeal derives from its simplicity. The American version of roulette, in contrast to the European variant, has a total of 38 divisions, numbered from 1 to 36, alternating between black and red. The wheel also has a 0 pocket, as well as a 00 pocket, both coloured green.

All pockets are identical in size and spacing, thus allowing for equal probability for the roulette ball to land in.

Martingale Betting System

The concept is simple; you cover your losses and increase your bet after each consecutive loss. You do this until you win, at which point you go back to betting the original amount you started on.

The Martingale betting system is among the most popular when it comes to roulette strategies, as it’s undoubtably one of the simplest. To play with this strategy, players essentially increase their bet after each loss, until they eventually land a win. Players with this strategy will win their losses back once they land that win, at which point, they go back to betting the original lower amount again to start over. 

The progression that you may use could be:

1 – 2 – 4 – 8 – 16 – 32 – 64 – 128 – 256 – 512 – 1024 – 2048 – 4096 – 8192

This method is fairly logical, but players have to be prepared to increase their bets until they land a win, otherwise the strategy fails, leaving the player with potentially large sums losses. With this method, the strategy is essentially bet big to win small.

The most effective way to use this strategy is to bet on red or black and odd or even options, as there is almost a 50% chance of winning. We say almost, as the 0 and 00 pockets fall into their own category.

One factor to consider with this method is that different roulette tables and game variants can have differing bet limits. Hitting a table’s bet limit during a losing streak before you land a win is a possibility, meaning no way of doubling down to recover lost money.

Reverse Martingale Betting System

While the Martingale betting method in online roulette is based on a negative progression system, the Reverse Martingale betting method dictates the complete opposite – increasing your bet after each win, rather than each loss.
